Our Territory
Greater Los Angeles Area Mensa® is one of the largest chapters in American Mensa — seven counties, from the Pacific to the Colorado River.
Our boundary follows the chapter's official ZIP-code assignment. The six Area borders are derived from that same assignment and are approximate. Neighbouring chapter extents are indicative.
The six Areas
GLAAM is divided into six geographic Areas, each with its own Secretary and Delegate, so members can find something close to home inside a very large chapter.
- Mid-City — Downtown and the surrounding urban core
- Coastal — The beach cities, along the western edge
- San Fernando Valley — North of the Hollywood Hills
- East L.A. County — East of the Los Angeles River
- Hi-Desert — The northern reach, into the high desert
- Inland Empire — Eastward, the newest of the six

Regional Gatherings aren't only for the host chapter — Mensans travel to them from all over. These are the groups closest to ours, several within an easy drive. But wherever you belong, you're welcome at StaRGazing 2027.
